Cruising to the Broughtons

This is soooo cool!! I don't know why the dolphins like to swim along side boats, but maybe because it is just fun?!? Who knows?
May 28, 2007
Time 1000
Log: 2710 Hrs: 738
Lv: Laura Cove
Course: Cramer Passage > Retreat Passage > Waddington Bay
Nothing in the crab trap this morning but a small male rock crab and a hermit crab. We are going to motor around the Broughton Islands today, do some trolling and then find a nice anchorage. A small school of Pacific White Sided Dolphins swam around our boat for a few minutes as we were trolling along.
Arv: Waddington Bay, Bonwick Island, Broughton Archipeglago
Lat: 50 43.100 N
Lon: 126 36.813 W
Time: 1400
Trip: 8.0 nm
We are the only boat (it seems) in The Broughtons. It is so quiet, we can hear the noise the barnacles are making as the tide comes back in.

What a wonderful picture of the Dolphins, I love watching them. I also love the little map from where you are. I really enjoy your postings. OH about the barnacles. Kathy, remember me telling you in Holland they serve them in restaurants in the province of zeeland. I think, do not know, you cook them as oysters or mussels. In any case if you do not catch enough fish for dinner you might try that. I only did eat one in holland as we were being treated on dinner in that restaurant. So I was just polite. To me and my candadian friend it felt like chewing rubber. but the dutch found it a delicacy.
