What's ahead in 2008

Ladysmith Harbour sunrise.

Well we are almost at the end of 2007, what a great year it has been! Jerry and I spent 5 months traveling in 2007, first to Florida for the family reunion, out to Alberta for graduation for Becky, our sailing trip to Alaska, sailing charter in Croatia, and then back up to the BC Interior for more family visits on several occasions.
Our plans for 2008 are starting to take shape. We are typically indecisive and often wait until the last possible moment before making plans. But here is what we do know as of right now....

We are flying to Mexico (Guadalajara area) in January for 6 weeks of exploring Mexico's interior. We have rented a little casita in Ajijic, which is near Lake Chapala. I will be posting lots of pictures and stories so you can blog along with us if you like.

Our sailing trip this summer will be a circumnavigation of Vancouver Island. We had originally wanted to sail on the west coast of the island as part of our trip last summer, but realized we were going to run out of time and it would be too rushed. So, we have set aside 6 to8 weeks for this trip. We will plan on leaving towards the end of May, no date has been picked yet.

Between Mexico and the Vancouver Island trip, we will be island hopping around Gulf Islands, maybe heading south to the San Juan Islands in Washington.

Splendid Mane is getting a brand new canvas this spring with a full enclosure. We are pretty excited about this addition as it will make the rainy days much more comfortable, and we had plenty of those on the last trip! Watch for postings from Mexico and when we get back, the construction of the new canvas!
