We spotted a couple humpbacks feeding close to shore near the airport in Fort Rupert. We are on the lookout for orcas now as this is their territory. It would be great to see the pod.

Hi Kathy, Jerry and Charles,
Good to see all your postings with new stories and photos! Awesome!
What are the weird things in the close up photo on the Hope Island beach posting? A type of barnacle?

Hi Kathy & Jerry, There's finally something posted when I go to your blog!! I just quickly went through it and will read it all after dinner. I want to read and enjoy every word! It's time to feed my kitties and take Kira and Kami out for a little break. I have them until Sat. Moira, Brian and kids left yesterday for Wells Gray Park...camping, canoeing and hiking.
When do you plan to arrive in Ladysmith?

Keep going South!!!!
Love,
Mom

What an incredible expierence for both of you. When I did read about your first overnight voyage in 3 to 4 meter swells, I thought,
" Well I am not a sailor that is for sure. I think I would have died from fear."
I admire your courage. I guess your slowly on your way home.I did not know that we had houseboats in Ladysmith. Got to check that out. I am glad you did post a blog, the last couple of day's I thought something had gone wrong with your boat.
Well I will keep on looking for a new blog untill your sail boat is back home.
I hope you will see the orca's. That would make a perfect end of your journey.

The weird things are goose barnacles and you can eat them... apparently they taste a lot like lobster!
