Koskimo Bay anchorage

Thursday June 19
This is another day of sitting and relaxing while the winds howl out on the coast. We are still at anchor in Koskimo Bay and it has been raining all day so far. I went out earlier this morning for a low tide exploration while Jerry got some time to himself on the computer. I have enough mussels for dinner tonight, they are the big California mussel, so I would think that 4 or 5 each will be plenty. I'll let you know how dinner turns out.
Hopefully the weather clears a bit and we can move on tomorrow. Our plan is to get to an anchorage just north of Brooks Peninsula in Klaskino Inlet. We may spend a day or so there, and then sail around to the south side of Brooks and do some kayaking around the Bunsby Islands.

Looks like it will be a delicious dinner. Beautiful starfish Kathy. Did you throw him back in?

Mussels??? yike. Brings memories back from WW 2. That is all we could buy in 1945 somewhere in the hague in a cafetaria. They tasted real gross, and then I made the mistake to open one up and saw the inside. My Mom was hungry and tried to eat the ones on her plate. She started to gag ,and then turned violently ill. I guess it must have been the way it was prepared or what ever. However ever since, I won't touch them with a ten foot pole.
I love your postings, and read with interest your previous posting about the light house family. Must be nice to live there surrounded by the ocean, but I wonder if life isn't sometimes very lonely. I think it takes special people to live that way. they seem very nice people of what i can tell of the pictures. Enjoy the rest of your holiday. We have now sunny day's but at night the temperature dips down and it gets cold. I guess the cold is still in the ground. Well there is alway's tomorrow. The forecast sounds good. But the weatherman has been so often wrong,I hope this time he is right.
I went to the chicken lady Flo today. The chicks are ready in about 2 weeks. And she told me about a friend who grows organic veggies. He opens up every year in august I think she said but I will check it out. It is in Nanaimo when your back we might can go together.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
